Schöntal – Stadtwerke Winterthur [municipal utility]

For two years, PORR worked on the amalgamation of two Stadtwerk Winterthur facilities, with the ultimate aim of optimising operating procedures and logistics.

Among other measures to create additional space, a mezzanine floor was inserted and connected to other levels by steel stairs. In keeping with the operations, PORR also built in office areas and utility rooms. During the project, the building equipment and appliances were completely overhauled, in stages so as to avoid impacting operations.

Today the facility houses both the original maintenance area and all the administrative departments of the municipal energy provider.
