Vienna, 25 May 2016 – The Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek and the PORR subsidiary in Poland signed a contract for the continuation of the project and the construction works for the museum and educational centre on 23 May 2016. PORR has guaranteed completion within a 18-month period, which will allow the handover of the modern museum and educational centre at the beginning of 2018. The project, which is financed by the Multiannual Government Programme, not only includes the new construction of the museum, but also the restoration of the heritage-protected Willa Bzów and the revitalisation of the green areas. The tender is worth EUR 16.5m.

The design & build tender involves the construction of the museum and educational centre with three floors of utility underground and three storeys above ground. The overground area of the building consists of two cuboids of identical height. Work on the permanent exhibition for the new museum building is underway parallel to the construction works.
