Vienna, 11 December – PORR is now entitled to bear the “TOP-for-training” quality seal. Since 2014 this award has been presented to companies offering exceptional training provision in Vienna. It was initiated by the Vienna social partners – the Federal Economic Chamber, the Federation of Austrian Industry, the Federation of Trade Unions and the Chamber of Labour – together with the city of Vienna.
This renowned quality seal is awarded to companies who educate youngsters in various professions and vocations to the highest possible standards, thereby fulfilling an important role in educational and social responsibility. Finally, it is all about giving apprentices practical training with diverse opportunities and laying the cornerstone for success in their future careers.
A large part of PORR’s success is based on the knowhow and skills of its staff members and so it’s hardly surprising that the company attaches great importance to apprentice training. PORR offers a wide range of further education and training opportunities and exemplary support for apprentices and trainees through specially qualified employees – a range which goes far beyond the legally stipulated standards. From vocational health and safety to soft skills training, everything is included. Once the youngsters have successfully completed their apprenticeships, a world of career prospects at home and abroad open up to them with PORR.
The award as an organisation which is TOP-for-training is a welcome testament for the efforts of everyone involved and is also an incentive to recruit specialist workers and skilled professionals from PORR’s own ranks in the future. Since 2010 the State of Austria has recognised PORR as
a “Centre of Excellence for Training” for its exceptional apprentice training.
